Natore: The Department of Livestock has distributed 200 goats among 100 families belonging to minority ethnic groups in Singra upazila of the district in an effort to improve their socio-economic conditions. The distribution programme took place at 12 noon on the Upazila Parishad premises and was organized under the Integrated Livestock Development Project for the Socio-Economic and Quality of Life Improvement of Backward Small Ethnic Groups Living in the Plains.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was arranged by the Upazila Livestock Department and Veterinary Hospital. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abdullah Al Rifat, who attended as the chief guest, stated that the government is committed to ensuring that no community in the country remains lagging behind. He emphasized that effective steps have been taken to uplift the living standards of all backward communities and that sustainable development will be achieved through balanced development.
Upazila Livestock Officer Tashriful Islam assured that recipients would receive necessary veterinary care and all related services for the goats in the coming days to help ensure successful rearing and long-term benefits.
