Rajshahi: The Annual General Meeting for the 2025-26 fiscal year of the Rajshahi District Potato and Raw Material Traders Cooperative Society Ltd. was held today at its office in Takipur under Paba Upazila in the district. The meeting emphasized protecting the interests of traders, maintaining stability in the market system, and making the cooperative’s activities more dynamic.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Paba Upazila Cooperative Officer Sultanul Islam attended as the chief guest. The meeting was presided over by the society’s president, Ahad Ali Shah, and featured speeches from Vice President Shamsul Alam, General Secretary Mithu Ahmed, and Treasurer Abdus Salam. As part of his address, Sultanul Islam underscored the critical role of potato and raw material traders in the nation’s food supply chain, urging for transparency, accountability, and modern management within cooperative operations.
In his presidential address, Ahad Ali Shah stressed the importance of mutual unity for traders’ survival in the current market landscape. He highlighted that collective problem-solving through cooperative efforts could provide traders with a stronger foundation.
General Secretary Mithu Ahmed announced that several plans have been undertaken to invigorate the society’s activities. Key decisions made at the meeting included expanding the society’s operations, enrolling new members, providing training, and enhancing transparency in market management.
At the conclusion of the meeting, attendees pledged to work unitedly to safeguard their interests and further bolster the cooperative organization.
