Rangamati:The Geetashram Temple in the Reserve Bazar area of Rangamati town has become a focal point for showcasing religious diversity during the Durga Puja celebrations. Featuring over 100 idols, the temple highlights the communal harmony among various communities residing in this hilly district.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the display at Geetashram Temple conveys a message of coexistence, reflecting Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's vision of a "Rainbow Nation." The Sharadiya Durga Puja is not just a religious festival but also an opportunity to emphasize cultural diversity and unity. Thousands of visitors have been drawn to the temple to witness this unique presentation of different religious and cultural traditions.

Manu Marma, a visitor, remarked that the main attraction of this year's Durga Puja is the depiction of religious traditions from various communities, including ethnic groups in the hills, through the temple's idols. He believes such initiatives will foster harmony and brotherhood.

Shankar Hor, president of the Geetashram Temple Management Committee, explained that the initiative aims to strengthen communal harmony by highlighting the cultural identities of diverse communities. It provides a chance to rediscover the rich heritage of the hills.

Beyond Geetashram Temple, Sharadiya Durga Puja is celebrated in a festive atmosphere at 47 mandaps across Rangamati district and its upazilas. The district administration, police, army, and other agencies have implemented various measures to ensure peaceful celebrations, with satisfactory law enforcement presence at each puja mandap.
