Keraniganj:BNP Standing Committee Member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy commended BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for his relentless fight against fascism, emphasizing that the party will not retreat in the face of threats.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Roy made these remarks at a reception for retired teachers and employees, an award ceremony for meritorious students, and a cultural program at Jinjira Pir Mohammad Pilot Girls' High School.
Roy criticized the Awami League government for leaving the country's economy in disarray. He acknowledged that while desires are unlimited, capacity is limited, and emphasized that economic recovery and school nationalization would be prioritized.
Addressing the current political climate, Roy dismissed the ultimatums and street agitation threats from the National Citizen Party (NCP) and Jamaat-e-Islami as unrealistic. He praised young NCP leaders for their role in the July uprising but noted that demanding government resignation at every turn is impractical.
Roy urged unity among those who contributed to the fall of fascism, stating that while BNP cannot achieve everything alone, collective efforts under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's leadership could overcome any opposition and realize the vision for Bangladesh.
He highlighted educational advancements in the Jinjira area, noting a shift from a past negative reputation to a focus on genuine education. The event also featured the presentation of crests to outstanding students and school staff, followed by a cultural performance. Dhaka District BNP General Secretary Advocate Nipun Roy Chowdhury attended as a special guest.
