Future Development in Rajshahi City to Reflect Citizens’ Opinions: RCC Administrator

Rajshahi: A meeting of the Town-Level Coordination Committee (TLCC) was held under the Resilient Urban and Territorial Development Project (RUTDP) of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), funded by the World Bank. The meeting took place at the Conference Room of Nagar Bhaban with Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, the Administrator of RCC, presiding.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Riton emphasized that officials and employees are dedicating significant effort to implement various projects, including infrastructure development, cleanliness initiatives, drainage improvements to mitigate waterlogging, and tree planting for environmental enhancement. Expansion of the Sonadighi Mosque, development of Central Park and Shaheed Zia Shishu Park, and enhancement of roads and intersections such as the one from Gulgofur Petrol Pump to Saheb Bazar, are also on the agenda.

The RCC aims to make civic services more efficient by identifying field-level issues and undertaking projects through coordination meetings with representatives from both government and private sectors. Ahmed Al Moin Parag, the Superintending Engineer of the RCC, presented the overall activities of the RUTDP project during the meeting.

Conducted by RCC Urban Planner Boni Ahsan, the meeting saw committee members express various opinions on the development of Rajshahi metropolis. The speakers thanked the RCC Administrator for the initiatives taken to ensure urban development and praised his efforts.

Notable attendees included RCC Chief Executive Officer Md. Rezaul Karim, Rajshahi Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Deputy Director of the Department of Environment Tasmina Khatun, and other committee members.
