Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested a fugitive convict, who was sentenced to life-term imprisonment in a murder case of Laxmipur Jubo League leader Abdul Hannan Sumon, from city's Vatara area on Thursday evening.
The arrestee is Rabbi, 35, son of Bellal Hossain alias Yusuf Patwari of Dakkhin Maguri village of Chandraganj thana in Laxmipur district.
RAB-3 Commanding Officer (Captain) Lt. Col. Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed confirmed the matter to BSS today.
He said that on the basis of secret information, a team of RAB-3 raided Bashundhara area and managed to arrest him around 6:30 pm.
