Gaibandha: A day-long free eye camp was held on the ground of Jhineswar High School under Ballamjhar union of Sadar upazila in the district yesterday. Morium Eye Hospital of the town organized the camp with financial support from Sharjah Charity International (SCI), Bangladesh Office.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a team of doctors from Morium Hospital provided treatment to underprivileged patients from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the eye camp. The initiative aimed to offer essential eye care services to those who are financially unable to seek treatment.

The camp successfully treated as many as 500 underprivileged children and adults, offering them medicines and eyeglasses free of charge. In addition to providing immediate care, several patients with more serious conditions were diagnosed and arrangements were made to send them to Morium Eye Hospital, Rangpur, for cataract operations.

This free eye screening camp focused on identifying and treating every underprivileged individual, ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder access to necessary medical attention. The collaborative effort between Morium Eye Hospital and Sharjah Charity International underscores the importance of accessible healthcare for all.
