Power, Energy and Mineral Resource Ministry has appointed Focal Point Officials (FPOs) to ensure uninterrupted power and gas supply during the countrywide holidays declared by the government to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Power and electricity consumers can anytime communicate with the FPOs, who will provide cooperation and information on power and electricity supply-related matters, said a press release of the ministry on Tuesday.
The FOPs of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division are additional secretary (admin) Mostafa Kalam (mobile-01711-942022) and deputy secretary (budget) Farhana Rahman (mobile – 01712872073) who will deal with gas and energy-related matters.
The FOPs of the Power Division are additional secretary (coordination) Humayun Kabir (mobile – 01777-190917) and joint secretary Rezwanur Rahman (mobile – 01711-905891) who will deal with electricity supply-related matters.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid directed for appointing the FPOs to ensure uninterrupted power and energy supply across the country during the holidays.
“Power and gas consumers are members of our family. So, it’s our duty to address their any compliant and provide safety in this period of time,” he told the officials while giving instructions on different issues at a meeting at the ministry.
He asked the officials to take some measures for consumers using pre-paid metres like exemption of surcharge.
