Dhaka: Bangladesh's foreign exchange reserves have stood at US$30.03 billion.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a Bangladesh Bank press release revealed that under the International Monetary Fund (IMF) methodology, specifically the Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual (BPM6), the reserves are recorded at a different figure. As per this methodology, the foreign exchange reserves of Bangladesh are reported to be $24.99 billion.

The discrepancy between the two figures is attributed to the different methodologies used for calculation. The Bangladesh Bank's statement highlights the importance of understanding these differences for accurate financial assessments. The release did not provide additional details on the implications of these figures on the country's economic standing.
