Foreign Minister expressed condolences over loss of lives caused by latest earthquake in Indonesia

Foreign Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, MP in a message to the Indonesian Foreign Minister Ms. Retno L. P. Marsudi , conveyed deep condolence to the Indonesian Government and people for the loss of lives in the latest earthquake that struck the Aceh province on Wednesday (Dec 7) morning. He sought divine blessings for the victims and expressed sympathies to the bereaved families. The text of the message is as below:

I am deeply shocked to learn about the tragic earthquake in Pidie, Aceh Province, causing huge loss of human lives. It is a matter of great sorrow for us.

In this hour of grief, on behalf of the Government of Bangladesh and on my own behalf, I wish to convey my deepest condolences to the Government and the brotherly people of Indonesia.

While seeking divine blessing for the departed souls of the victims, we pray to Almighty Allah for bestowing courage and fortitude on the bereaved families to overcome the irreparable loss.
