FM urges IUT graduates to draw inspiration from glories of Muslim Ummah

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has called upon the IUT graduates to take inspiration from the glorious past of the Muslim Ummah, and work relentlessly for socio-economic development of mankind.

He made call while delivering a speech as chief guest at the 34th Convocation of Islamic University of Technology (IUT) held at IUT Campus, Gazipur on Monday.

The foreign minister congratulated the passing graduates, and fondly recalled the glorious days of Islam.

He further added that Muslim scholar’s significant contribution to science, arts and literature in Islamic Golden Age paved the way for modern civilization.

Momen recalled with gratitude the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, under whose visionary leadership Bangladesh joined the OIC in 1974.

He congratulated the IUT authority on successful completion of their academic year despite coronavirus pandemic, and reiterated Bangladesh’s continued cooperation and support to IUT.

Momen handed over certificates to the doctorate students, and OIC and IUT gold medal to students who have excelled in their respective fields.

Agriculture Minister Dr. Muhammad Abdur Razzaque, Vice-Chancellor of IUT, visiting delegation from the OIC General Secretariat, members of the diplomatic corps and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also attended the convocation ceremony.
