Narail: A court here today sentenced five persons to life term imprisonment for killing a minor boy in Lohagara upazila of the district in 2015. Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Shajahan Ali handed down the verdict to Shimul Mollik, 44, Syed Liton, 41, Jahidur Rahman Mithu, 44, Syed Jahangir, 69, and Shamima Begum, 69. All are residents of Kalachandpur village in Lohagara upazila. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, on September 30, 2015, police recovered the body of minor boy Shahin Fakir from a pond at Kalachandpur village. The boy had gone missing one week prior to his murder. Following the tragic incident, Shahin's uncle filed a case accusing the five individuals with Lohagara Police Station. Testifying witnesses and evidence, the court passed the order, stated Additional Public Prosecutor Kazi Ziaur Rahman. The court also imposed a fine of Taka 10,000 on each convict.
