Dhaka: Detective Branch (DB) has arrested five more leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL) and its affiliated organizations from different parts of the capital in the last 24 hours. These arrests are part of an ongoing effort to apprehend individuals involved in organizing sudden processions that disrupt law and order, as confirmed by the deputy commissioner of DB (media and public relations) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the individuals arrested include Dhaka North City Shramik League General Secretary Md. Kalu Sheikh (42), Dhaka District Swechchhasebak League Executive Member Md. Titu Bhuiyan (45), Central Chhatra League Deputy Human Rights Secretary Selim Reza (27), Dhaka District North Chhatra League Vice President Sukumar Chowdhury Shuvo (33), and Hazaribagh Thana Chhatra League Former President and Dhaka University Branch Chhatra League Former Vice President Md. Abul Hasnat Bahar (37).
DB sources revealed that Md. Kalu Sheikh was apprehended from the Fulbaria Bus Stand area under Bangshal police station, while Titu Bhuiyan was detained in the Paltan police station area on Sunday night. On the same night, the DB-Cyber division arrested Selim Reza and Sukumar Chowdhury Shuvo from the Mugda police station area. Another DB team captured Md. Abul Hasnat Bahar from Mohammadpur Thana around 8:10 am today.
