DHAKA: Five individuals have died from dengue, and 344 new patients have been admitted to hospitals nationwide in the past 24 hours, highlighting the ongoing public health challenge the country faces.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported the distribution of new hospitalizations: 96 occurred in Dhaka north city, 70 in Dhaka south city, 44 in the broader Dhaka division outside of the city limits, 41 in Barishal division, 51 in Chattogram division, 41 in Khulna division, 19 in Rajshahi division, seven in Mymensingh division, and two in Rangpur division. The cumulative death toll from dengue this year has reached 541.
In the same period, 415 patients were discharged from hospitals across Bangladesh, bringing the total number of discharged patients to 95,566 this year. The persistent number of hospitalizations underscores the severity of the dengue outbreak affecting the nation.
