Rajshahi: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested five alleged drug peddlers with 104 kilograms of ganja in two separate anti-crime operations in the district last night. The arrested individuals have been identified as Selim Mian, 28, Yeasin Ali, 25, Israfil Hossain, 22, Arif Hossain, 42, and Muhammad Kafi, 22.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a team from the elite force conducted a raid in the Gopalhati area under Puthiya upazila, acting on a tip-off. During the operation, Selim and Yeasin were arrested after 100 kilograms of ganja were found in their truck. In a separate operation, another RAB team arrested Israfil, Arif, and Muhammad with four kilograms of ganja in the Belpukur bypass area under Belpukur Police Station.
The arrested individuals, along with the seized contraband goods, have been handed over to the police. Two separate cases have been filed with the respective police stations in connection with these incidents.
