Adabor:Police arrested five individuals in the Adabor area of the capital early Monday for their alleged involvement in an attack on a house in the Shyamoli Housing area.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the individuals arrested were Abul Kalam Azad, 65, Mohammad Russell, 20, Mohammad Atikul, 25, Mohammad Russell Piyada, 22, and Lion, 21.
Police reported that a group of 15-20 masked men, armed with local weapons and firearms, attacked a building in Shyamoli Housing around 630 am on Saturday. The attackers attempted to forcibly enter the building, using machetes to damage the main gate, doors, and windows.
A case regarding the incident was filed with the Adabor Police Station. Acting on a tip-off and utilizing technology, police apprehended Azad from the area at approximately 1205 am, as stated by Deputy Commissioner (Media) Md Akhter Hossain. Following his interrogation, the other suspects were arrested around 605 am.
Police also seized a sharp weapon from those arrested. It was noted that there had been a longstanding dispute between two groups over the building's ownership.
