Fisheries Adviser Mourns Death of Singer Farida Parveen

Dhaka: Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhter today expressed deep shock at the death of eminent folk singer Farida Parveen. In a condolence message, the Adviser prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Adviser highlighted Farida Parveen’s diverse musical talents, noting her performances of various types of songs, including Nazrul Sangeet and patriotic songs. However, she acknowledged that Farida Parveen gained the most recognition and popularity through her renditions of Lalon Sai’s songs.



The Adviser emphasized Farida Parveen’s significant contribution to promoting Bengali folk music, especially Lalon Sangeet, both domestically and internationally. She noted that Farida Parveen’s deep and emotional voice enhanced the power of Lalon’s songs and helped people around the world appreciate Bengali culture.



Farida Parveen passed away at a city hospital on Saturday night at the age of 71.
