Six fire victim families of Shibganj upazila of the district received financial and food assistance during the holy month of Ramadan from Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Lawmaker of Chapainawabganj-1 (Shibganj) constituency Dr. Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul distributed 120-kg rice, 30-kg pulses, 30-kg potato, 12 litres oil and Taka 60,000 among the victims of Parchowka Raghabbati village under Monakasha union of the upazila yesterday afternoon.
During the distribution, joint secretary of Shibganj upazila unit of Awami League Touhidul Alam Tia, president of Shibganj Muktijoddha Sons Command Mahbubur Rahman Mizan, local UP member Moinur Rahman and others were present.
On March 29 at around 5.30 am, a fire broke out in the area and the houses and the furniture of the six families were burnt.
