DHAKA: A fire broke out in a multi-storey building near Tejgaon College at Farmgate in the capital today. The fire originated in the basement of the seven-storey Manosi Plaza around 9:30 in the morning, said an official of Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCF). No casualties were reported, he said. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, five firefighting engines from different police stations rushed to the place of occurrence and have been trying to douse the flame till the filing of the report at 4:37 pm today. The official stated that various types of goods stored in the basement have been causing disruptions in efforts to bring the blaze under control. The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.
