A fire broke out at a jhut (scrap from garment factories) godown in Konabari’s Dewliabari area of Gazipur city on Tuesday night.
Factory sources said the fire originated at around 9pm. Locals at first tried to douse the fire.
On information, three firefighting units from Joydebpur and Kashimpur DBL rushed to the spot and are trying to douse the fire till filing of this report at 10:45pm.
Tasharaf Hossain, senior station officer of Joydebpur Fire Service said, the fire originated at a jhut warehouse at first and later spread to more godowns.
He could not tell the reason behind the fire.
Casualties and losses due to the fire could not be known immediately.
