Dhaka: A fire that broke out in a readymade garments (RMG) factory at Kalshi in Mirpur in the capital was brought under control. Seven fire fighting units managed to control the blaze around 12:05 am today after approximately two hours of concerted efforts, as stated by Anwarul Islam, the media officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fire erupted in the garments factory located on the sixth floor of the Bibahbari Community Center building in Kalshi, Mirpur-11, around 10:12 pm. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage have yet to be determined, as stated by the authorities.
Fortunately, no casualties have been reported so far. The swift response by the fire fighting units ensured that the situation was managed efficiently, preventing further escalation.
