Dhaka: Films highlighting the glorious role of women in the July Mass Uprising will be screened tomorrow in all 64 districts and at all universities across the country.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, these initiatives are part of the July Reawakening Program 2025, organized by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. A recent inter-ministerial meeting decided on these activities to commemorate the significant historical event.

The program will feature a variety of events, including the broadcast of a documentary titled “Testimony of a Martyr’s Family” and a video recalling the memories of July freedom fighter Mahbubul Alam from Narayanganj, who lost both eyes.

Films addressing anti-Bangladesh propaganda by foreign media, the contribution of women in the July Uprising, and the story of Abrar Fahad will be shown starting at 9pm at the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC). Additionally, a musical program based on songs from the July movement will be held.

On July 14 last year, students of Dhaka University energized the movement by chanting slogans against collaborators and taking to the streets, a moment that will be exhibited tomorrow night at 10pm at the Central Shaheed Minar, Dhaka.

In remembrance of the uprising, July Martyr Memorial Monuments will be established in each district. The ‘Notes on July’ program will feature selected photographs from the Uprising to design postcards, allowing the public to contribute their personal July memories. July-themed T-shirts and headbands will also be produced and distributed.
