DHAKA: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus presided over the opening ceremony of the highly anticipated ‘Festival of Youth 2025’ today, marking the beginning of a vibrant celebration aimed at engaging young people through sports and cultural events. The festival, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and overseen by the Chief Adviser’s Office, will run until February 19, 2025.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the opening envelope ceremony took place at the State Guest House Jamuna, with notable attendees including Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain and Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam. The festival’s theme, “Change the Country, Change the World,” underscores its mission to incorporate youth in transformative activities.
The Festival of Youth 2025 will collaborate with BPL 2025 to encourage sports among young people through various community engagements. Planned activities include local sports tournaments and community cricket clinics, designed to hone participants’ athletic skills and foster a spirit of teamwork.
The festival will also feature traditional food stalls in fan zones, showcasing regional cuisine and supporting local businesses. This initiative aims to highlight the area’s cultural heritage while providing economic opportunities for local vendors.
Art exhibitions will be an integral part of the festival, with fan zones serving as platforms for local artists to display their work. These exhibitions aim to connect artists with the community and celebrate both traditional and contemporary art forms.
