Manikganj: Ferry services on the Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma River in Manikganj district resumed after an hour-long disruption due to stormy weather conditions.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Deputy General Manager of BIWTC Paturia Ghat, Abdus Salam, reported that a nor’wester hit the ghat area around 4:30 pm today. The authorities suspended ferry operations as a precautionary measure to avoid any untoward incidents.
During the suspension, ferries were anchored at the ghats while passengers remained onboard. The ferry movement returned to normal from 5:30 pm after the weather condition improved, allowing for safe travel across the river once again.
