Bangladesh Navy emerged unbeaten champions in the Federation Cup Basketball Tournament 2022 beating Dhumketu Club by 68-35:points in the final at the Shaheed Suhrawardy National Indoor Stadium in Mirpur on Monday.
Bangladesh Navy clearly dominated the first half by 45-19 points.
Mehedi of the champions sailors team caged the match highest 14 points while Sajid scored 10 points for the runners-up Dhumketu Club.
President of Bangladesh Basketball Federation Dr Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, who is also the President of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) and a former MP, was the chief in the day’s final and later he distributed the trophies.
In the semifinals on Sunday, Bangladesh Navy eliminated Bangladesh Air Force by 86-52 points while Dhumketu Club beat Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) by 81-72 points.
A total of eight teams took part in the just concluded five-day Federation Cup Basketball.
