Narayanganj:A tragic road accident claimed the lives of a father and his four-year-old son, leaving four others injured near the Keodala Bus Stand on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Bandar upazila this morning.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased have been identified as Shafiqul Islam, 35, and his son Bipul, 4, both residents of Uttar Khagura village in Gaibandha district. The accident occurred when a Chattogram-bound bus collided head-on with a cement-laden truck. Shafiqul and Bipul, who were standing beside the highway, were struck by the vehicles and died instantly.
Sub-Inspector Shafiul Alam of Kanchpur Highway Police confirmed the incident, stating that the injured individuals were rescued and transported to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment. Police have detained the driver of the cement-laden truck in connection with the accident.
