Khulna: Police today arrested an ex-female councilor for Khulna City Corporation’s Ward no – 29, 30, and 31 women reserved seats from the Khulna Circuit House area. Acting on a tip-off, the Detective Branch of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) apprehended Roksana Kalam Lili this afternoon in connection with a case filed at Labonchara police station, confirmed Khondokar Hossain Ahmmad, assistant commissioner (Media) of KMP.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the case alleges that the former councilor, Roksana Kalam Lili, 50, who is the wife of the late Abul Kalam and a resident of the Labanchara area, was involved in criminal activities during the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement in July-August 24. She is expected to be presented before the court with a remand prayer, the assistant commissioner added.
