Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak today said that an evil force inside the country wants to overthrow the government through conspiracy both at national and international levels.
"An evil power within the country maligns the government. They are thinking of throwing out the government. Staying inside the country, they are trying to hatch conspiracy both at national and international levels," he said.
He was addressing a memorial programme and a doa-mahfil at Mohammadpur Town Hall Market here organized by the Scientist Dr MA Wazed Miah Smrity Pathagar on the occasion of Dr MA Wazed Miah's 14th death anniversary.
He issued a note of warning to the conspirators, saying that Awami League cannot be moved through hatching conspiracy and in the name of movement.
Pointing out at the BNP men, he said there will be no benefit in groveling and complaining to foreign masters.
He urged them to avoid undemocratic path and advised them to follow the path of democracy as the election is the only tool to change the government.
Recalling the memories of the internationally reputed nuclear scientist Dr MA Wazed Miah, husband of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Nanak said even being a life partner of Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, he never interfered in her politics.
"Dr MA Wazed Miah gave her courage and strength in politics," he added.
With President of Scientist Dr MA Wazed Miah Smrity Pathagar Managing Committee and former Member of Parliament Chobi Biswash in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Former Secretary Shaheed Ullah Khandkar, Vice-Chancellor at the Islamic Arabic University in Dhaka Professor Mohammad Abdur Rashid and Member of Scientist Dr MA Wazed Miah Smrity Pathagar Managing Committee and Bureau of Non-Formal Education (BNFE) Director General Dr Md Abul Kalam Azad.
