Natore: The Roads Department in Natore has initiated an eviction drive targeting illegal establishments along the highway and main roads within the municipality area. The operation, which began at 9.30 am on Sunday, is led by Executive Magistrate of the Roads and Highway Department, Asfaqul Haque Chowdhury. Officials have stated that the effort is designed to ensure safer and more orderly roadways.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Executive Engineer Kamrul Hasan Sarkar noted that similar drives have been conducted several times in the past. However, this time, the authorities are implementing round-the-clock monitoring to prevent re-encroachment. 'If illegal establishments are rebuilt, strict action will be taken, including financial penalties,' he warned.

Executive Magistrate Asfaqul Haque Chowdhury emphasized that all illegal structures within the jurisdiction of the Roads Department are being removed. He also observed that many owners have voluntarily dismantled their establishments prior to the operation. Before the eviction, the Natore Roads Department conducted a two-day awareness campaign using loudspeakers, urging the removal of illegal establishments from the Baraharishpur bypass to the Banbelgharia bypass, as well as other main roads in the town.
