Dhaka: The European Union (EU) is set to extend support to more than 70,000 individuals with disabilities residing in the Mymensingh and Netrokona districts. This initiative marks a significant effort to address the needs of disabled individuals in these regions.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the EU delegation in Dhaka emphasized their commitment to inclusion, diversity, and the rights of people with disabilities not only in Europe but also in partner countries. As part of this commitment, support will be provided under a new project at the ‘Protibondhi Community Centre (PCC)’ in Mymensingh.
The EU’s initiative will also focus on enhancing the capacity of civil societies in advocacy and policy dialogue concerning human rights. Additionally, it will address the creation of a safe environment for people with disabilities and ethnic communities, ensuring their rights and needs are met effectively.
