EU Ambassador Meets Tarique Rahman to Discuss Cooperation

Dhaka: European Union (EU) Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller today held a courtesy meeting with BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. The meeting took place at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan at 6:30pm, according to BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a delegation led by EU Ambassador Michael Miller was present at the meeting. The delegation included Payola Pamploni, Deputy Managing Director for Asia and the Pacific region, Monica Bajlait©, Deputy Head for South Asia, Asia and the Pacific, and Legal Advisor Rastislav Spak.

Representing the BNP, Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, member of the Chairperson’s Advisory Council Ismail Jabullah, BNP Joint Secretary General Humayun Kabir, and Acting Chairman’s Advisor Mahdi Amin were present.

After the meeting, BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan informed journalists that BNP plans to actively participate in the upcoming elections. Tarique Rahman sought EU cooperation for Bangladesh’s development following the election.
