Dhaka: BNP Standing Committee member and Dhaka-8 candidate Mirza Abbas stated today that voting in the 13th parliamentary election is proceeding fairly and smoothly. Speaking to reporters after casting his ballot at the Women’s College polling center, he remarked on the peaceful nature of the election process, noting that until 12:40 pm, the voting has been good and fair.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Abbas warned against any attempts to manipulate the vote, emphasizing that engineered results will not be accepted. The veteran BNP leader also alleged ongoing efforts to create instability during voting but expressed confidence in the electorate, stating that any attempts to create chaos would be countered by the people’s response through the ballot.
When questioned on whether he would accept the election results regardless of the outcome, Abbas firmly reiterated that no engineered results would be accepted.
