Chattogram: BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury emphasized the importance of an elected government and political stability in attracting foreign investors to Bangladesh. Speaking at a seminar titled ‘Youth’s thoughts on employment generation and multi-dimensional industrialization’, he underscored that an elected government with the people’s mandate is essential for creating a conducive environment for foreign investment.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Amir Khasru stated that if the BNP is voted to power, it will prioritize attracting both domestic and foreign investments by deregulating and democratizing the economy to ensure sustainable growth. He highlighted that job creation and facilitating trade and investment are key components of the party’s Vision-2030 and its 31-point proposals.
Amir Khasru further pledged that the BNP would create one crore new jobs within 18 months of assuming power. The seminar, organized by Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal as per BNP’s central decision, aimed to engage youth and spread the party’s 31-point outline nationwide. The event is part of a special series of seminars and rallies targeting youth participation, set to continue in Khulna, Bogura, and Dhaka until May 27.
He highlighted that political stability is critical and cannot be achieved without an elected government. This stability influences foreign investors’ decisions, as they prefer to invest in countries where the government’s policies and mindset favor investment growth. Amir Khasru also recalled the economic policies of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, particularly in promoting the garments industry, and proposed similar initiatives for other sectors to bolster the economy.
The seminar saw contributions from experts in various fields, both local and international, who participated both in person and online. Mahdi Amin, adviser to BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, conducted the session. Notable participants included VC of Chattogram Medical University Prof. Omar Faruk Yusuf, VC of Premier University Prof. Nasrul Quadir, and political analyst Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman, among others.
Central and local BNP leaders, including Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anni, Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, and others, were present at the seminar, demonstrating the party’s commitment to discussing and implementing policies for economic growth and stability.
