Netrakona: An elderly man was killed and another injured in a road accident in the Sakura area under Sadar upazila today. The deceased was identified as Md. Haresh Mia, 60, son of Md. Hasan Ali of Baham village under Kalmakanda upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred on the Netrokona-Mymensingh highway when a CNG-run auto rickshaw collided head-on with a covered van. The impact left two CNG passengers critically injured, as stated by Kazi Shahnewaz, Officer-in-Charge of Netrokona Model Police Station.
Locals promptly responded to the scene, rescuing the injured and transporting them to Sadar Hospital. Unfortunately, the on-duty doctors declared Haresh Mia dead upon arrival.
