Eight more test positive for COVID-19 in Rangpur division

Eight more people were reported

coronavirus (COVID-19) positive today in Rangpur division.

Health officials said the eight new cases were reported after diagnosing

188 samples at two COVID-19 laboratories in the division today.

Among the eight new patients diagnosed today, four were reported positive

after diagnosing 94 samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical

College (RpMC) in Rangpur city.

“The four new patients include three from Rangpur and one from Nilphamari

districts,” said Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task

Force and Principal of RpMC Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu.

On the other hand, four new patients were reported after diagnosing 94

samples at the COVID-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC)

in Dinajpur today.

“All of the four new patients hailed from Sadar upazila in Dinajpur

district,” Principal of MARMC Professor Dr. Syed Nazir Hossain told BSS.

Talking to BSS, Focal Person of COVID-19 and Assistant Director (Health)

for Rangpur division Dr. ZA Siddiqui said the number of COVID-19 patients

rose to 16,023 as eight new positive cases were reported today from across

the division.

“The district-wise break up of total patients stands at 4,098 in Rangpur,

796 in Panchagarh, 1,372 in Nilphamari, 968 in Lalmonirhat, 1,028 in

Kurigram, 1,522 in Thakurgaon, 4,761 in Dinajpur and 1,478 in Gaibandha,” Dr.

Siddiqui said.
