Dhaka: Eight more children died with measles symptoms in the last 24 hours, increasing the total number of confirmed measles and measles-symptom-related deaths to 1,044 from March 15 to September 16. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room released this information in a press release issued today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, 1,239 suspected measles patients were reported in the last 24 hours, with the total number of suspected measles cases reaching 175,198 since March 15. The number of confirmed measles cases in the past 24 hours was 81, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 20,282 during the same period.
From March 15 to September 16, hospitals admitted 154,420 patients with suspected measles. During this time, 148,465 patients recovered and were discharged. In the past 24 hours, eight children died with suspected measles, while the total number of deaths from suspected measles stood at 944 since March 15.
No deaths from confirmed measles were reported in the past 24 hours. However, since March 15, 100 people have died of confirmed measles.
