Eid-ul-Azha Celebrated with Enthusiasm at Rajshahi University

Rajshahi: The holy Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated at Rajshahi University (RU) today with traditional enthusiasm and due religious fervour. The Eid prayer congregation was held at 7:30 am at the Central Jame Mosque, attended by Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Faridul Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Mamunur Rashid, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Md. Abdul Alim, Treasurer Professor Md. Matiar Rahman, Proctor Professor Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Student Adviser Professor Md. Amirul Islam, and other senior administrative officials and distinguished teachers.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, after the prayer, the traditional Eid embracing and exchange of greetings took place. As a special arrangement this year, chocolates, juice, sweets, and other favourite foods were arranged for children, adding a new attraction to their Eid joy. Like previous years, separate prayer arrangements were made for women at the RU Central Jame Mosque for the Eid congregation.



After the Eid prayer, the Vice-Chancellor expressed that Eid-ul-Azha is one of the major festivals, teaching the Muslim community to attain the satisfaction of the Almighty through the greatness of sacrifice. He emphasized that Eid builds bonds of cordiality and harmony among the Muslim community, which is greatly needed to bring stability to society. He concluded by wishing that the joy of Eid returns to life repeatedly.
