Bogura: Thousands of people have started to throng at different renowned shopping complexes of the district town for Eid shopping for their beloved ones, and the shop owners have also completed preparations focusing on the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest festival of the Muslim.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, people are thronging the clothing and shoe stores with their family and friends, eager to complete their festival purchases before time runs out. Visiting different markets of the district, including New Market in Satmatha, Runner Plaza on Nawab Bari Road, and Police Plaza, the BSS correspondent found that there is a crowd of people inside and outside the markets. The salespeople are passing busy time handling the rush of customers in the stores.
The correspondent also found that all markets in the town have been decorated with colorful lights. Soon after evening, the buildings and roads of the town’s different areas become colored with red, blue, and green lights. Keeping the needs and passions of the customers in mind, different brands have showcased all the new Eid collections. Customers expressed happiness after getting to buy the clothes they wanted, but many have complained about overpricing.
Different types of dresses and sarees, including dwara, desi woven sarees, jamdani print half silk sarees, cotton sarees, and light green, blue, gray, and light pink color dresses are available in the different markets of the town. Buyers are getting half-silk and woven sarees between Taka 1,000 and Taka 2,500. Silk, muslin, or georgette sarees with embroidery, cutwork, beading, and lacework are available between Taka 1,500 and Taka 12,000.
There are various designs of Punjabi for boys brought by traders. Punjabis are being sold for Taka 1,000 to Taka 10,000 in the district town. In Ramadan, special security measures have been taken to ensure the safety of passengers in railway stations, bus terminals, and vehicles, traffic control, safety of Eid Jamaat, and prevention of misuse of fake money, extortion, robbery, and terrorist activities.
In this regard, District Police Superintendent Zedan Al Musa said that no car can be parked illegally in front of shopping malls and no car will be allowed to stand or stay there. Strict instructions have been given to the concerned in this regard. Night patrol till late night has been arranged to facilitate public shopping.
