EC Warns Against Any Crimes Centering Polls

Dhaka: The Election Commission today said obstructing movement to polling centres, buying and selling votes and casting fake votes are punishable offenses. If anyone is found involved in these crimes, strict action will be taken against them, the EC said in a message issued for media here.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Election Commission has emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of the electoral process. The warning comes as part of efforts to ensure free and fair elections. The Commission has outlined that any attempts to disrupt the voting process or manipulate the results will not be tolerated.



The statement aims to deter individuals or groups from engaging in activities that could compromise the electoral process. The Commission has reassured the public that measures are in place to identify and prosecute those who attempt to undermine the election’s credibility.
