Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) has urged voters registered for postal voting in the Sherpur-3 and Bogura-6 elections to promptly submit their votes. This request targets those who registered through the BD Mobile App, emphasizing the importance of scanning the QR code and casting their vote before forwarding it to the nearest post office.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this appeal was communicated in a message from the EC, with Salim Ahmad Khan, Team Leader of the ‘OCV-SDI’ project related to expatriate voter registration, providing the details. The EC stressed the importance of swift action by stating, “The esteemed voters of the 13th National Parliament election for the Sherpur-3 constituency and the Bogura-6 by-election are hereby informed that after receiving the postal ballot, please scan the QR code, exercise your voting rights, and then submit it to the nearest post office without delay.”
The EC further specified that voting for the vacant seat of Bogura-6 and the Sherpur-3 constituency under the 13th National Parliament is scheduled for April 9. The polling in Sherpur-3 had been previously cancelled due to the demise of a valid candidate. Additionally, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, who initially won the Bogura-6 and Dhaka-17 seats in the 13th national parliamentary election, has formally relinquished his Bogura-6 parliamentary seat.
