21 Arrested in Lalbagh Block Raids for Drug Abuse

Lalbagh: Police have arrested 21 individuals identified as drug abusers during a series of block raids conducted in different thana areas of the capital in an effort to maintain law and order. The drive was conducted on Sunday around 9:00 pm in the Chawkbazar, Sutrapur, and Bangshal thana areas.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a police press release issued today stated that the coordinated block raids led to the arrest of 21 persons involved in drug abuse. The individuals arrested are Salauddin, 42; Md. Rubel, 23; Tarek, 24; Md. Raihan Pathan, 30; Md. Iqbal Hossain, 42; Md. Raju, 40; Ramzan Boyati, 19; Md. Salauddin, 35; Shah Jahan, 28; Rabiul Islam Ratan, 22; Md. Hannan, 45; Md. Iqbal, 21; Azmain, 22; Alamgir Hossain, 58; Imran Hossain Siad, 32; Mehedi Hasan alias Raihan, 21; Shariful Islam, 31; Dudu Mia, 42; Lokman Bepari, 55; Md. Alauddin, 25; and Md. Al-Amin, 23.



The police reported that following their arrest, the accused were sent before the Special Metropolitan Magistrate Court. After a summary trial, the court sentenced them to various terms of imprisonment and ordered their transfer to jail. Police officials stated that such operations will continue in different parts of the capital to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
