Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) has issued a gazette redrawing the boundaries of four Jatiya Sangsad (JS) constituencies in Pabna and Faridpur districts. The four constituencies affected by this decision are Pabna-1, Pabna-2, Faridpur-2, and Faridpur-4. This move follows writ petitions filed with the High Court division, as mentioned in an official release.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the gazette published on December 24, 2025, details the new boundaries. Pabna-1 now encompasses Santhia Upazila along with parts of Bera Upazila, specifically Bera Municipality, Haturia Nakalia Union, Notun Barenga Union, Chakla Union, and Kaitola Union. Meanwhile, Pabna-2 is redefined to include Sujanagar Upazila and all areas of Bera Upazila except for Bera Municipality and the four aforementioned unions.

In Faridpur, the constituency of Faridpur-2 now consists of Nagarkanda Upazila and Saltha Upazila. For Faridpur-4, the new boundaries include Bhanga Upazila, Charbhadrasan Upazila, and Sadar Upazila.

These changes in constituency boundaries are part of the EC’s efforts to address concerns raised in the legal petitions and ensure fair representation in these regions.
