Agargaon: The Election Commission today convened a reunion meeting on the first working day following the extended Eid-ul-Fitr holidays. The gathering took place in the conference room of Nirbachan Bhaban, situated in the capital’s Agargaon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Acting Chief Election Commissioner Abdur Rahmanel Masud presided over the meeting. Present at the session were Election Commissioners Md. Anwarul Islam Sarker, Tahmida Ahmad, Brigadier General Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah (Retd.), EC Secretariat Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed, and Additional Secretary K M Ali Newaz.
During the meeting, Election Commissioner Md. Anwarul Islam Sarkar expressed his personal contentment, noting, “This year’s Eid was one of the best Eids of my life. Offering Eid prayers together with everyone after presenting the nation with such a beautiful election brought immense personal satisfaction.”
EC officials indicated that the primary purpose of the meeting was to regain momentum in official activities after the seven-day Eid break and to facilitate the exchange of greetings among colleagues. The informal discussion also touched upon the current electoral environment, several pending administrative decisions, and a preliminary roadmap for the upcoming local government elections.
