Dhaka: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has assured that comprehensive preparations are in place to ensure the peaceful and festive celebration of Durga Puja, the most significant religious festival for the Hindu community. He confirmed that all necessary arrangements have been completed to facilitate a smooth observance of the festival across the country.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Home Adviser made these statements during his visit to two puja mandaps, Sri Sri Radha Govinda and Kali Temples in Dakshin Mashdgaon, as well as the Kanaksar Public Kali Temple under Louhjang Upazila. He highlighted that the Interim Government has allocated Tk 5 crore for this year’s festivities, a significant increase from the Tk 2 crore allocated during the administration of the fallen Awami League government.

The Home Adviser emphasized the importance of maintaining security, instructing puja udjapon committees to ensure round-the-clock monitoring by deploying seven volunteers at each mandap. Furthermore, he announced the imminent deployment of Ansar personnel to mandaps nationwide to bolster security.

In his remarks, the Home Adviser also urged the community to uphold religious harmony and sustain the festive spirit throughout the Durga Puja celebrations.
