Dua Mehfil Held in Rangpur to Pray for Begum Khaleda Zia

Rangpur: A dua mehfil took place at the Water Tank area of New Engineer Para in the city to pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Ward No 20 unit of Rangpur Metropolitan BNP organized the event, which was attended by leaders and workers of the party, its affiliated organizations, and local residents. Md Shamsuzzaman Samu, the BNP-nominated MP candidate for Rangpur-3 constituency and convener of Rangpur Metropolitan BNP, addressed the gathering as the chief guest.

The event featured speeches from Joint General Secretary of Spain BNP Zakirul Islam Zakir, Metropolitan BNP member Alhaj Salequzzaman Salek, former District Chhatra Dal president Moniruzzaman Hizbul, District Swechchasebak Dal convener Al Imran Sujan, member-secretary Zakaria Islam Jim, District Jubo Dal leader Abdul Halim, and joint convener of Metropolitan Swechchasebak Dal Noman Hasan.

Prayers were later offered for the souls of all deceased leaders of Rangpur, including BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Begum Khaleda Zia, and their youngest son Arafat Rahman Koko. Moulana Nur Islam, Khatib of New Engineer Para Jam-e Mosque, led the prayers.

Earlier, similar prayer gatherings were held in Wards 15, 31, 13, and 12 of Rangpur city.
