Dhaka: The Bangladesh Meteorological Department today said weather may remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country. It noted that a mild heat wave is currently affecting the districts of Faridpur, Sirajganj, Feni, and Jashore and may persist.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, day temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged, while night temperatures may see a slight increase throughout the country. Additionally, rain or thundershowers accompanied by lightning flashes and temporary gusty winds are likely in one or two locations within the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.
The department also reported that a well-marked low over the Southwest Bay and adjoining West Central Bay has moved northwards and is now situated over the West Central Bay and adjoining Southwest Bay. It is expected to continue moving northwards over the next 12 hours before shifting north-northeastwards. A trough of lows currently lies over West Bengal and the surrounding areas.
The Met office recorded a maximum temperature of 36.4 degrees Celsius at Baghabari in the Rajshahi Division yesterday, while today's minimum temperature was noted at 17.00 degrees Celsius in Tetulia, Rangpur Division. In Dhaka, today's sunset is expected at 06:18 pm, with tomorrow's sunrise at 05:43 am.
