Dhaka: The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) has announced a temporary prohibition on all drone activities in proximity to airport areas, flight paths, and designated take-off and landing zones. This measure aims to ensure the safety of aviation operations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the restriction will be effective from December 18, 2025, to February 15, 2026. It encompasses areas adjacent to airports, aircraft movement routes, training zones, and specified take-off and landing sites, as outlined in an official notice by the CAAB.
The CAAB highlighted that unauthorized drone flights pose significant risks to aircraft safety and contravene the Drone Registration and Operation Policy, 2020. Drone operators with special requirements must secure clearance from the relevant district administration before applying to the CAAB for authorization. The authority will assess each application before making a final decision.
The CAAB has also issued a stern warning to the public, urging them to refrain from unauthorized drone operations. It emphasized that legal actions will be enforced against those who violate the temporary ban.
