Dr Suratujjaman and Sheikh Kamrul Hasan Appointed to National Pension Authority

Dhaka: Dr Md Suratujjaman has recently assumed charge as the Executive Chairman of the National Pension Authority, the implementing body of the Universal Pension Scheme. On the other hand, Sheikh Kamrul Hasan has joined the National Pension Authority, the organization responsible for implementing the Universal Pension Scheme under the Ministry of Finance, as a Member.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Suratujjaman is a distinguished officer of the 15th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service (Administration) cadre. He has been appointed on a contractual basis for a period of two years through a notification issued by the Finance Division under the Ministry of Finance. Over the course of his career, he has served in various important positions in the government, including as Assistant Private Secretary to former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. In addition to his administrative responsibilities, he has been actively involved in social welfare activities and writing.



On the other hand, Sheikh Kamrul Hasan is an official of the 15th batch of the BCS (Audit and Accounts) cadre. According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, he has been appointed to the post on a contractual basis for a period of one year. During his career, Hasan served as Chief Accounts Officer in three ministries, Finance Controller (Army), Divisional Controller of Accounts, and held leadership roles in various financial administration offices. He also served in senior positions at the Board of Investment, the Ministry of Shipping, and the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. In addition, he worked as First Secretary (Commercial) at the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata. He contributed to the welfare of tea garden workers while serving as Controller at the Tea Garden Workers’ Provident Fund Office in Sreemangal.
