Shahbagh: Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid Hossain emphasized the necessity of including women in the development process, stating that the nation cannot progress without their involvement. He addressed this during the 'Hifzul Qur'an Award 2025' ceremony at the Shaheed Abu Sayeed International Convention Center in Shahbagh.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Khalid highlighted historical examples, noting that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) brought about social change and governed alongside Hazrat Khadija (RA) and Hazrat Ayesha (RA). He pointed out that women, even historically seen in battlefields, could significantly contribute to society if educated as Hafezas, Alimas, Muhaddithas, doctors, technologists, and scientists.
Dr Khalid expressed a vision of a unified future, free from division, where institutions like Nibras Madrasah could be pivotal in realizing a welfare state grounded in Islamic principles. He emphasized the importance of mutual respect, stating, "If I do not respect someone, I cannot expect respect from them. If I throw a stone, I must be prepared to be hit back."
He also urged attendees to avoid harmful practices such as backbiting, gossip, and slander. The event was presided over by Principal Maulana Muhammad Zainul Abedin, with Allama Sayyid Anowar Hossain Taher Ahmadi Jaber Al-Madani serving as the keynote speaker. Special guests included Muhammad Muniruzzaman Bhuiyan, Joint Secretary of the Technical and Madrasah Education Division, Professor Miah Md. Nurul Haque, Chairman of the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board, Shaykhul Qurra Hafiz Qari Abdul Haq, Chairman of Huffazul Qur'an Foundation Bangladesh, and Maulana Shah Muhammad Wali Ullah, Secretary General of Nibras Foundation Bangladesh.
The ceremony concluded with Dr Khalid presenting crests to 167 students from the madrasah, including 132 boys and 35 girls.
