Bagerhat: A Quran recitation and doa mahfil was held this afternoon at the Kachua Degree College ground in Bagerhat, seeking swift recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. The event was organized by the Kachua Upazila BNP.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Kachua Upazila BNP President Sardar Zahid presided over the programme, while Upazila BNP General Secretary Sheikh Touhidul Islam conducted it. In a short discussion before the prayer session, speakers highlighted Begum Khaleda Zia's dedication to restoring democracy in the country and her status as a steadfast leader.
They emphasized that her wellbeing is crucial not only to BNP but to the nation as a whole, being essential for political stability and democratic progress. They prayed for her quick recovery and long life. Local BNP, Juba Dal and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal leaders and activists, among others, were present at the programme.
The programme concluded with a special prayer seeking her speedy recovery.
